Airfryers are everywhere at the moment and for a good reason. They are such a quick, easy and low cost way to cook so many foods. And so simple to use too.

I have cooked so many things in mine since I got it about 18 months ago. From part baked bread rolls to soup, cake and toasties.

Eggs in the airfryer are understandably one food which people can be hesitant to try. Get it wrong and you either have a horribly undercooked egg or it’s completely overcooked and rubbery.

But get it right and you will have delicious soft boiled jammy eggs, perfect for a quick breakfast in the morning.

It’s also a brilliant way to batch cook eggs and store in the fridge for a few days.

All you need to do is add the eggs directly into the airfryer basket.

Don’t overcrowd with too many eggs as you need the air to circulate between them to cook evenly.

Cook at 180c for 7 minutes and then transfer immediately into a bowl of ice water for 4-5 minutes.

This will make it much easier to peel and remove the shell.

Tips for cooking eggs in the airfryer

  • Temperatures and cooking times in different airfryer machines vary so while 7 minutes is the perfect cooking time in mine, it might be a little different in yours. Try it and see how it goes but just be aware that you may need to adjust the timings a little.
  • If you want a fully hard boiled egg you can cook it for a little longer. Try 8 minutes first and if it’s still not enough try 9 minutes. However there is a risk that the egg will explode if overcooked so please be careful!

Airfryer Recommendation

There’s so many different air fryers out there on the market at the moment. Some of the big brand names are expensive but I have been using this Uten 6.5 Litre Air Fryer since last year and I love it.
