The Honey Deuce Cocktail is the official cocktail of the grand slam tennis tournament, the US Open. It’s made of fresh lemonade, simple syrup, Grey Goose vodka and raspberry liqueur. Garnish it with balls of honeydew melon for the perfect tennis cocktail!

I grew up playing tennis and while I didn’t really love playing as a kid, I adore it as an adult. It’s my sanctuary, my church, my time to think, play, laugh and have fun. How lucky am I!

I love making tennis recipes like my Wimbledon-inspired Strawberries and Cream Cake and Strawberries and Cream Cookies. Last year, I visited the US Open and tried this in person. And let me say, it’s delicious! Let’s make it.

Recipe Tips

Single Serve vs. Batch Cocktail. I included amounts and instructions for both. If I was just having two cocktails, I’d use the shaker. If I was inviting people over, I would definitely prep the batch cocktail for ease.

Use store-bought lemonade. If you want to skip the step of making homemade lemonade, use store-bought. For this specific cocktail, I love the brand Santa Cruz’s lemonade because it’s not too sweet.

Top with Sparkling Water to make it even more refreshing. I loved this cocktail with a splash of sparkling water on top. This is not traditional but I think a delicious addition!

Recipe FAQS

How much is the Honey Deuce Cocktail at the U.S. Open?

I went to the U.S. Open in 2023 and was lucky enough to try it. It was $22 per cocktail. Yikes! Lucky for us, you can make it using this recipe for a fraction of the price!

Does this taste exactly like the original Honey Deuce Cocktail?

It’s pretty close. I would say it’s slightly less sweet. And if you add sparkling water at the end, it’s even more refreshing.

Batch Cocktail (Serves 6):

To Make the Lemonade:

  • In a small pot, set over medium low heat, combine the sugar and water. Heat until the sugar dissolves and pour it into a container to cool. When cooled, add in the fresh lemon juice. This will be our simple syrup base for our cocktails.

To Make a Single Cocktail:

  • To a shaker, add in the vodka, three ounces of simple syrup lemonade, raspberry liqueur and ice. Shake vigorously. Add glass to a glass and pour the cocktail over it. Garnish with a skewer of honeydew melon balls.

To Make this Batch Cocktail:

  • To a pitcher, pour in the vodka, lemonade, raspberry liqueur. Stir and transfer to the fridge to chill. When you’re ready to serve, either add ice to the pitcher or serve it on the side for people to add themselves.
