This is my favorite Banana Bread recipe, it’s easy to make, super moist and full of great banana flavor and crunchy walnuts. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone that didn’t like Banana Bread, although some people prefer it without nuts but my family loves the walnuts added in so that’s how I usually make it.

This recipe is so easy to make all you need is some overripe bananas and some pantry staples that most people always have on hand. Banana bread is incredibly versatile. You can enjoy it plain, or you can add nuts, chocolate chips, or even a swirl of cinnamon to make it your own. It can be eaten as a breakfast item, a snack, or even a dessert.

What is Banana Bread?

Banana Bread is a quick bread made from mashed bananas mixed with eggs, flour, sugar, butter, baking soda, salt, and baking powder. Banana bread is also considered to be a sweet bread with nuts or raisins mixed into the ingredients to enhance the flavor.

The origin of Banana Bread can be traced back to the early 20th century, a period when baking soda and baking powder became common household items. During the Great Depression, resourceful home cooks didn’t want to waste overripe bananas, so they started baking them into bread.

How to make Banana Bread

Preheat the oven to 350° F and grease a 9 x 5 loaf pan. I like to use my cast iron loaf pan for this bread because it heats evenly and gives it a nice, golden brown crust.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the mashed banana with the melted butter.
